When Shakespeare described Eric Northman as a "god" (see my earlier post) I thought perhaps that he didn't know that he was a vampire. But a little more research into Shakespeare's work came up with this quote:
“For I have sworn thee fair and thought thee bright,
Who art as black as hell, as dark as night.”

Old Will was a pretty perceptive kind of guy.
